Dr. Andrea Calef is an Associate Professor in Finance at the UCL School of Management and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Competition Policy (CCP). As an empirically-driven economist, his influential research tackles critical issues at the intersection of international finance, macroeconomics, and financial stability.
Dr. Calef specializes in contemporary financial risks, particularly systemic risk originating from the modern economy, with a sharp focus on FinTech, digital platforms, and ESG investments. His highly policy-relevant work successfully bridges rigorous econometric analysis with practical regulatory needs. He secures significant research grants and draws on policy experience from the European Central Bank (ECB) and prior work in asset management.
