Bevan Cowie is the Former Chief Risk Officer for Barclays Bank PLC (BBPLC), based in London. He was responsible for overseeing the key risks (e.g. credit, treasury, operational) for the Corporate, Investment, US Consumer and Private Banks.

Bevan joined Barclays in January 2023 to assume this role. Prior to this, he spent 7 years at Deutsche Bank where he was most recently Global Head of Market, Model, Liquidity and Valuation Risk Management in addition to the CRO for Treasury and the Capital Release Unit. Bevan previously spent 18 years at Credit Suisse, with the majority of this time being spent in Risk Management working out of both London and New York. He began his career at KPMG.

Bevan holds a degree in Finance and Accounting and is a Chartered Accountant.
