Dennis McLaughlin

Mr. McLaughlin is the CRO of the World Bank Group since January 2025. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry at a global level. He joined the WBG from Fnality - the blockchain/DLT settlement fintech, where he was CRO.

Previously he was the Group Chief Risk Officer at the London Clearing House and the Head of Financial Risk at the London Stock Exchange Group. He was the founding CEO of the Aon Center for Innovation and Analytics in Dublin. He has held various senior roles in risk and finance as an MD in Merrill Lynch and was head of Economic Capital at Citi Global Consumer Group. Mr. McLaughlin was also a consultant in the Global Banking, Securities and Risk Management practice at McKinsey in New York, where he was heavily involved in fintech and financial innovation. He started his career as a mathematics professor at Princeton University, where he also taught quantitative finance.

He holds a PhD in mathematics from Brown University and an MBA in finance from the Wharton school.
