Dr. Sergej Kapustin is a senior financial executive with more than two decades of international experience, specializing in strategic risk management, distressed assets and capital outcomes. He currently serves as the Chief Risk Officer and Member of the Management Board at CKB Banka, Montenegro’s largest and leading financial institution, part of OTP Group.

Prior to his current mandate, Dr. Kapustin worked as Chief Risk Officer and a member of the M&A team at an Asia-Pacific bank, where he led comprehensive transformation initiatives and balance sheet optimization efforts. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Risk Officer for the Russian subsidiary of OTP Bank.

Operating at the helm of risk for Montenegro's leading market player, Dr. Kapustin effectively translates complex global regulatory frameworks, such as Basel IV and CRR III, into sustainable, growth-oriented practices. Committed to talent development and innovation, he established the CKB Academy, a forward-looking initiative designed to cultivate expertise in data science and risk management while supporting the continuous development of future-ready banking professionals.

Holding a PhD in Economics and having graduated from the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School, Dr. Kapustin’s global perspective bridges rigorous risk oversight with the digital transformation of banking services. He remains a prominent voice on the integration of advanced analytics, AI, and human-centric leadership in modern banking.
