Head of Climate Risk at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

Effy Ritter formed and currently leads the climate risk team at the EBRD. An experienced finance professional, having worked with several global investment banks, she brings deep expertise in credit risk and front-line banking.

Under her leadership, the EBRD has published annual TCFD reports over the last 4 years culminating in the publication of a limited assurance ISSB report this year.

Her team has developed specific methodologies to assess both physical and carbon transition risk and championed a shift in EBRD’s assessment of climate risk to client assessment versus project specific.

A strong believer in transparency, she formed the joint MDB risk working groups to promote collaboration and sharing of ideas among multilateral development banks.

Based in at the EBRD headquarters in London she has an M.A from Brandies university in Massachusetts.
