Elias leads McKinsey’s Banking Data Practice across Europe and Africa. He also heads McKinsey’s Risk Data work in the region and is a core member of McKinsey Technology.
Elias helps financial institutions develop data and analytics strategies and improve data governance, supporting them in building their Advanced Analytics and GenAI capabilities. He is also a key expert in designing scalable architecture and data platforms to enable expansion. He specializes in empowering Risk and Finance divisions to develop data-operating models tailored to each institution’s needs, while aligning with regulatory trends to maximize returns on regulatory changes.

- Designing and implementing risk-aligned data-operating models and data-culture initiatives for leading European banks to integrate ongoing analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and technology efforts.
- Assisting a European bank in designing a holistic AI and GenAI strategies, scaling up large data and analytics transformation with a focus on business and regulatory use cases
- Designing and implementing risk-enabled data transformations, integrating an operating model overhaul with compliance and regulatory mandates, centered on BCBS239
- Coordinating European Central Bank (ECB) Stress Test response strategies, including the development of AI-based forecasting and data infrastructure approaches
- Developing comprehensive technology strategies and long-term technology transformations, transitioning to product-based operating models to enable rapid progress toward target states
- Formulating and refining BCBS239-focused data transformation roadmaps across all regulatory dimensions for European and UK institutions, driving regulatory response strategies
