Fariz Rahimov is Head of the Risk Office at ABB, the International Bank of Azerbaijan, where he leads the Bank’s enterprise risk management framework and supports strategic decision-making across the organisation. He is also a Member of the Supervisory Board of ABB Invest, contributing to the firm’s governance and strategic oversight.

With more than 15 years of experience in banking and financial services, Fariz has built extensive expertise across enterprise risk management, risk governance, strategic planning and regulatory transformation. Throughout his career, he has led a range of initiatives to strengthen risk management capabilities, enhance governance frameworks and integrate quantitative analysis into strategic decision-making. His recent work has focused on the application of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to modernise risk functions, improve decision-making processes and support business resilience in an increasingly complex operating environment.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Fariz actively contributes to the advancement of the risk management profession through industry collaboration, international forums and the development of innovative approaches to risk oversight. He holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School and postgraduate qualifications from Durham University.
