Gian Luca De Marchi is the Unipol Group’s Chief Risk Officer since 2019. He has the responsibility of Group enterprise risk management and global risk oversight for insurance, banking and beyond insurance sectors. Previously Gian Luca has been head of Group risk management since 2014 and head of financial and credit risk since 2008 when he joined Unipol Group. Gian Luca contributed to set up the risk management department in Unipol and led the project to develop the Solvency II Internal Model, obtaining the approval in 2017. Before joining Unipol Group, Gian Luca had 10 years experience in the banking and asset management sectors. He worked for Banca Antonveneta - ABN Amro Group holding different positions as Head of Financial Control and later as Global Markets Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Banca Antonveneta, he had 4 years experience in Banca Intesa Sanpaolo Group as asset manager and quantitative analyst. Gian Luca holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance (Cà Foscari University in Venice). He is a full member of the CRO Forum association and contract professor in actuarial and financial modelling for Solvency II at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
