As VP, Global Product & Platform Management, Jeroen heads the firm’s risk, finance and regulatory reporting product and platform teams globally for Wolters Kluwer Finance, Risk & Reporting Division. In his role, Jeroen is responsible for driving product strategy and direction, as well as optimising product performance, continuing to enhance product development, steer product go-to-market and manage the global product and platform teams.
Jeroen is well placed for this role with his in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of the financial industry, having built and specified the IAS accounting templates and IAS 39/IFRS 9 calculators, and having developed the credit risk and IFRS 9 requirements as part of the global rise of CECL and more forward-looking accounting standards.
Jeroen began his career within the firm in Basel and credit risk calculators to fulfil the needs of the Basel II requirements, and has evolved as an IFRS expert, supporting IAS 39 projects and providing advice to banks across Europe, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Japan. He has gained experience in joining enterprise-wide stress test across risk domains to make this an integrated strategy in Finance, Risk and Regulatory Reporting. He was educated at The University of Ghent, Belgium and completed an internship with Deloitte in portfolio management and price verification within the capital market space.
Jeroen continues to expand his areas of expertise and is currently working in the domains of sustainability and climate-related impacts where he is focusing on the inter-relationship of risk and finance. Jeroen also regularly acts as a guest lecturer at a number of universities on topics such as Basel, IFRS and Climate Risk.
