Profile
John Kelly has over 20 years’ experience in banking, risk management and advisory across London, Dublin and New York. He is Chief Risk Officer at AIB UK, with responsibility for credit, compliance & anti money laundering as well as stress testing, recovery planning and risk governance. John is a member of the UK Executive Committee and Group Risk Leadership Team.
Prior to AIB, John served as Interim Chief Risk Officer and Special Adviser to the Irish Department of Finance during the Troika Stabilisation Programme. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade with PwC, as a Director in Audit & Advisory, spending time in the Deals team and also leading the Credit Risk practice, advising financial institutions on regulation, governance, transactions and capital management.
John is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, has completed the Chartered Director Programme, and has undertaken advanced risk management studies at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
