Luke began his technology career on a graduate training scheme converting from a background in languages to software engineering.

Luke spent several years working in Australia for the Commonwealth Bank and then returned to the UK to take up a role with Barclays as Head of Finance and Risk reporting, where played a pivotal role in establishing and leading the technology function delivering the PPI complaints management operation and latterly led a function looking at generating new income streams based on corporate and industry insights using customer transaction behaviour.

Luke joined Santander UK in March 2022 as Head of Data Engineering, DevOps and Platforms and in January 2023 became the Chief Data Officer leading the Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence where he is responsible for the strategy, execution and delivery of data and analytics capabilities across the Bank including Data Science & Generative AI.
