Michael Frawley is Chief Risk Officer of Allied Irish Banks (AIB), one of Ireland’s leading financial institutions. With more than 25 years of international banking and risk management experience, he has held leadership positions across retail, commercial and wholesale banking, asset management and trade finance. Prior to joining AIB in 2022, Michael was Chief Risk Officer at Permanent TSB and held a variety of senior roles with HSBC across the UK, Asia and the Americas. Drawing on this global experience, he is focused on strengthening organisational resilience, embedding a strong risk culture and positioning risk management as a strategic enabler of sustainable growth and value creation. Michael holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork.
