Mutisunge Zulu is an accomplished Executive Risk Leader and Emerging Markets Strategist, currently serving as Chief Risk Officer of ZANACO Plc, Zambia’s largest bank by asset size. With two decades of experience spanning credit and market risk management, corporate governance, and strategic leadership across banking and capital markets, he has held senior roles across East and South-Central Africa within the Standard Bank Group, building a track record of steering institutions through complex risk and growth cycles. Mutisunge is a Global Executive Ph.D. candidate in Strategy and Business Management at ESCP Business School, complementing a distinguished academic background that includes a Global Executive MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has also completed executive education in Leading Sustainable Corporations at Oxford University and Henley Business School. A Qualified Risk Expert (QRE) with the Directors and Chief Risk Officers Institute (DCROI), he holds the prestigious Certificate in Risk Governance and Certificate in Cyber Risk Governance. In 2025, he was honored with the Rising Star Award for Corporate Governance by the Institute of Directors (Zambia).

Renowned as a global thought leader, Mutisunge is a regular voice at high-level forums including RiskMinds, the Information Security Forum, and leading international economic summits. His contributions span sovereign debt, ESG integration, digital resilience, and sustainable finance, where he is known for translating complex macroeconomic and systemic risks into actionable strategies that strengthen institutional resilience and unlock long-term value.
