Oussama joined BCI in 2017 as Director, Credit and Counterparty Risk. In 2021, he transitioned to his current role team as Senior Director, Investment Risk Modelling and Public Markets Risk Management. He is responsible for leading market, credit, counterparty, liquidity, leverage, and concentration risk modelling as well as the risk oversight of BCI’s Public Markets activities. He acts as an advisor to investment teams and the BCI Investment Risk Committee regarding new strategies and regulatory changes.
In addition to his current role at BCI, Oussama has been serving on the Board of Directors for the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC) since January 2025. Additionally, he has been a member of the Risk Management Working Group of the same association since 2022.
Before joining BCI, Oussama spent nine years gaining expertise across the financial industry, including working as a Senior Advisor at Investissement Quebec, Senior Manager at Deloitte, and Senior Manager of Credit Risk Model Validation at the National Bank of Canada. In addition, he lectured at HEC Montreal, teaching courses in credit derivatives, financial risk management, and corporate finance. Oussama holds a Ph.D. in Finance from HEC Montreal.
