Profile

A Certified Risk Management Practitioner (IRMSA), Qiniso holds a BCom degree (UNISA) and is also an alumnus of Duke University having successfully graduated from their Executive Development Programme.


She is the Group Chief Risk Officer for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange Limited. Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer with an indirect reporting line to the Board Risk Management Committee, she leads the development and execution of a group-wide integrated risk and resilience programme.


Prior to joining the JSE, Qiniso held numerous roles in risk management, the last of which was Chief Risk Officer for a provincial development finance institution. Other roles in both the public and private sector ranged from operations management to strategy, governance, risk and compliance functions.


Qiniso serves on the Board of the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa and serves in a number of its committees. She is the immediate past Chairperson of the Risk Intelligence Committee whose key deliverable is the production of the Annual South Africa Risk Report.


She also serves on the Board of the Centre of Excellence for Financial Services (COEFS) and regularly avails her expertise for short-term assignments aimed at conducting deep-dives into issues that require independent review.


She is a speaker and mentor who volunteers her time serving in various industry bodies and using her talents in her church community.


Outside of work, Qiniso is an avid ultramarathon runner and has had the privilege of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain peak in Africa.
