Rosamund de Sybel is Head of Geopolitical Risk, Financial Crime Compliance, at ICBC Standard Bank (a unit of the world’s largest bank by total assets). She leads analysis of the interplay of geopolitical and financial crime risks in order to mitigate against increasingly complex and multi-faceted threats. Prior to joining ICBCS, she was Director at a US-headquartered due-diligence and investigations firm, leading investigations and political risk assessments in the Middle East and Africa. She was also Editor/Economist Middle East & Africa at a global research and analysis firm. Rosamund was based in Bahrain from 2007 to 2012, working as the Editor of a business and economics journal, before helping to launch the Geo-Economics and Strategy programme for a leading British defence and security focused think-tank. She has a First Class degree from King’s College London having spent an exchange year at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
