Sara Saab currently heads Wells Fargo’s Regulatory Interpretations Team, a specialized group that advises on the firm’s most complex regulatory capital and reporting matters. Under her leadership, the team serves as a strategic partner to business, risk, and finance stakeholders- interpreting evolving regulatory frameworks, guiding enterprise-wide implementation efforts, and shaping policy positions on proposed rulemakings. Sara’s team plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance while identifying opportunities to optimize capital outcomes. Her work reflects a deep commitment to regulatory integrity, industry engagement, and forward-looking financial stewardship.
Sara has over a decade of experience in financial regulation, including ten years at the Federal Reserve Board’s Supervision and Regulation division, where she led international and domestic working groups to shape policy across market risk, capital, leverage, and liquidity standards. She worked extensively on Basel market risk rules, U.S. rulemakings, industry engagement, and on-site supervisory examinations. Prior to that, Sara consulted at Freddie Mac, combining financial and technological expertise to support the Multifamily Capital Markets group, and has also built valuation and project finance models for global acquisitions.
