Profile
Sarah, a leader of Mckinsey's Risk Practice, has deep expertise in bank regulation and compliance, risk management, capital planning and stress testing, resolution planning, corporate governance, and strategic planning.
Before joining McKinsey, Sarah had a 25-year career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY), beginning as an examiner and rising to become executive vice president and head of financial-institution supervision. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing many of the largest banks operating in the United States and developing new supervisory policies and procedures.
At the FRBNY, Sarah managed a staff of more than 700 people and a budget of over $250 million. Following the 2008 financial crisis, she introduced a raft of reforms and innovations in the way the FRBNY supervises the country’s largest financial institutions and contributed to international supervisory-policy objectives.
In addition to her work for the firm, Sarah holds seats on the boards of both the President’s Council of Cornell Women and the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy.
