Sotaro Kato is Executive Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Nomura Holdings, Inc. Mr. Kato served as Co-CRO at Nomura Holdings, Inc. and as CRO at Nomura Holdings America from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, he was the CRO for Nomura Securities Co. in Tokyo from 2014 and 2016. Before these roles, Mr. Kato managed a diverse array of sales and trading activities for Global Markets across both Japan and the Americas. Before joining Nomura in 2002, Mr. Kato spent 10 years at the Bank of Japan, where his final role was a chief trader for the Open Market Operations desk. Mr. Kato graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1992 and earned MBA from the University of Chicago in 1998.
