Dr Xianfu Lu is an independent advisor on adaptation and climate resilience, supporting development financial institutions on physical climate risk assessment and management at policy as well as operational levels. Trained as an applied meteorologist, Dr Lu has been working in the field of climate science, risk assessment and management for over 25 years. Her work spans science, policy and practices. Xianfu has extensive experiences in climate risk analytics to inform climate-resilient public and private investments. She has worked across the wide spectrum of institutional settings, from academia, UN agencies including the UN Climate Change Secretariat, multilateral development banks and the private sector. These experiences have all contributed to Xianfu’s unique ability to fully appreciate the climate resilience investment needs and challenges of diverse clients, and to eJectively “translate” such needs into requirement for policy and investment interventions.
