As the new lead of FCT’s commercial solutions division, Robert is responsible for overseeing all aspects of FCT’s commercial business, including operations and product development.

Robert comes to FCT with over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a speciality in secured lending transactions. He’s helped pioneer and advance the legal practices for commercial defeasance transactions over the last 15 years, and is recognized as the leading Canadian practitioner in the area.

A former partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, and adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, Robert brings expertise, experience and deep knowledge to his practice of commercial law.

Robert believes in developing the people around him and giving back to his community. That’s why, when he’s not at his day job, Robert mentors several young professionals, and gives an annual lecture at St. Michael’s College’s school career day.
