Profile

Francesco serves as the Global Head of Clean Energy Investments at Nuveen Infrastructure (previously Glennmont Partners, where he was one of the co-founders). In this capacity, he oversees investment strategy, portfolio management, product development, fundraising, and financial performance. With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, including 18 years in renewable energy, Francesco brings a wealth of expertise to his role.

Prior, Francesco spent four years in the investment team of Oxara Energy Group, a part of the Fleming Family and Partners group. Oxara Energy Group was among Europe's pioneer private equity funds specializing in renewable energy. During his tenure, Francesco successfully led the origination and execution of several investments in wind, solar, and biomass projects across Europe. Additionally, he played a crucial role in developing these projects into operational assets and overseeing fund accounts and investor management.

Francesco's commitment to climate investment goes beyond his executive role at Nuveen Infrastructure. Between 2021 and 2023, he served as a Non-Executive Director of the Green Angel Venture (GAV), a significant angel syndicate and VC investor in the UK dedicated to combating climate change. During his tenure, GAV invested in 28 start-up and early-stage companies across 10 economic sectors, showcasing Francesco's commitment to fostering sustainable initiatives.

Francesco's educational background includes a BA in Finance and Accounting from Bocconi University (Italy), a Master in Finance (MSc) from London Business School, and he is a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualified management accountant (ACMA). Moreover, Francesco is a charterholder of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
