Jan is CEO & Managing Partner and Founder of Future Energy Ventures, a firm he co-founded together with RWE and later E.ON to accelerate the global energy transition. For over 25 years, he has been at the forefront of the energy and technology sectors, combining entrepreneurial vision, strategic leadership, and deep industry expertise to shape the future of energy.

Passionate about building a net-zero carbon energy system, Jan believes that sustainable, resilient, and innovation-driven energy is not just a goal. It is essential for the planet’s future. He has led more than 300 investments in energy technology companies, transforming bold ideas into scalable solutions and connecting founders, investors, and ecosystem partners to drive meaningful change.

Before founding Future Energy Ventures, Jan held senior executive positions at RWE AG, where he gained extensive experience in energy strategy, innovation, and leadership. He holds Master’s degrees in Business Economics and International Management and serves on multiple boards as a member, observer, and trusted advisor.
