Lucy is Head of Energy Infrastructure at Actis. She has over 25 years of investment experience in growth markets, investing in and managing power businesses. She sits on the Energy Investment Committee as well as Actis’ Executive Committee which oversees the performance of the firm.
Lucy currently chairs the Boards of Levanta, Bridgin Power, Rezolv and Yellow Door Energy and also serves on the Board of Nozomi Energy, all of which are renewable energy platforms owned by Actis.
Prior to becoming Head of Energy Infrastructure in 2021 and Fund Head of AE5 in 2020, Lucy was responsible for the Energy Infrastructure Teams activities in Africa (2017 to 2020) and renewable energy generation globally (2012 to 2017). Her time at Actis also includes five years of operational experience as a Project Director at Globeleq, a Fund 1 and Fund 2 portfolio company, in the business development team in Africa.
Lucy has led or been involved in deals across Romania, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, India, UAE, South Africa, Kenya, Senegal, Egypt, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania.
Prior to joining CDC, Actis’ predecessor organisation, in 2001, Lucy worked at UBS Warburg (1994 to 1999) as a Director in the fixed income division, latterly trading emerging market local currency bonds and interest rate derivatives in the South African, Czech and Greek markets.
Lucy holds an MA (Hons) degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) from Trinity College, Oxford and an MBA degree (with distinction) from INSEAD. Lucy has 4 teenage+ daughters and lives in the North of England.
