Speaker

Profile

Doris Odit Achenga is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Odit Frontier Partners Advisory Services, where she works as a market builder at the intersection of private sector development, capital market systems, and frontier investment ecosystem design. Her work is venture capital adjacent and spans the wider machinery that enables venture ecosystems to function, including startup investment readiness, SME and growth stage finance, private capital policy, regulatory frameworks, market systems development, and investment exit environments.

Across Africa and Asia, Doris has advised governments, development partners, and enterprises on building the institutional and market conditions that allow capital to flow more effectively. Her experience includes startup investment readiness under programmes such as GIZ SAIS and Stanford Seed, corporate finance and investment appraisal work in Tanzania, venture capital and private equity ecosystem development in Uganda, venture capital policy work in Lesotho, and market systems assessments in Timor Leste. More recently, her work has expanded into advising on capital market development, sovereign investment structures, and system design for multi-partner development programmes that organise public and private capital to catalyse investment in frontier economies.

In 2025, Doris was recognised by Private Equity International and Private Funds CFO as one of the Top 10 Under 40 New Faces of Finance for her contribution to private capital ecosystem building. This recognition reflects work undertaken within the East African private capital ecosystem to improve market visibility, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and support reforms that enhanced the legibility and attractiveness of markets such as Uganda to international private capital investors.

She holds an MBA in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Bachelor of Information Technology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and a certificate in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies from Harvard University.
