Originally from Canada, Karen began her career in chemical engineering before transitioning to corporate and investment banking over 20 years ago during the dot-com boom. She led global transformation programs for top-tier banks, including UBS, Barclays, BNP Paribas, and Lloyds, earning a reputation as a strategic problem solver with a passion for using data and technology to drive sustainable growth. Beyond her banking career, Karen has successfully built and exited two companies. This experience underscored the unfair advantage banks have - while they operate with real-time financial intelligence, SMEs are left relying on outdated tools and guesswork. This gap led to the creation of sherloc, a nextgeneration financial planning platform that equips SMEs with the real-time insights, proactive alerts, and strategic forecasting that big businesses take for granted.
