Maria is the Founder and GP of Openseed VC, specializes in backing operators-turned-founders in tech startups. With over a decade scaling ventures like Uber, Branch.co she offers invaluable expertise. Previously managing Octopus Ventures First Cheque Fund and also leading the Oxford Seed Fund as Managing Director during her MBA.

Maria holds an MBA from Oxford and has a Computer Science undergraduate degree. She's evaluated 4,000+ startups, investing in 60+ globally, mainly in Africa & Europe at angel and pre-seed stages. Maria mentors at Creative Destruction Lab, Oxford, and is an Advisor on TechNation Libra, UK. Her forte lies in identifying and nurturing really early-stage startups.
