Mera Horani is the founder of Kolona Ummahat, an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to empowering mothers across the MENA region through economic opportunity, education, and community support. Recognized by the Ma’an Social Incubator of Abu Dhabi for its social impact, Kolona Ummahat has become a leading platform advocating for mothers’ inclusion in the workforce and society.

Through her work, Mera has positively impacted more than 1,000 mothers by supporting their mental well-being, confidence, and career development. She has helped dozens of women successfully return to work after extended maternity breaks and led initiatives that provided mental health support to women affected by conflict in partnership with professional therapists. Her programs have also equipped war-affected women with remote work skills, enabling them to generate sustainable income and rebuild their lives.

In recognition of her contribution to Arabic digital content and social impact, Mera received the ESCWA Award for Digital Arabic Content in 2024 and the Impact Award by Majra UAE in 2025.
