The Tawdheef Emirati Founders Awards 2026 is a national entrepreneurship competition launched by Tawdheef x Zaheb in partnership with the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association (EEA). It is open to UAE Nationals aged 18 to 35 and celebrates the most promising Emirati entrepreneurs and business ideas across four award categories.

Four category winners will each receive AED 5,000, a trophy and 10 minutes on stage to present their project at Tawdheef x Zaheb 2026.

Award Categories
The competition features four categories, each aligned with a UAE national priority. Each category has its own judging criteria and submission requirements.
Future Technology and AI
About This Category
Celebrates Emirati entrepreneurs building businesses that use technology, artificial intelligence, automation, or digital innovation to solve real-world problems in the UAE. Aligned with the UAE National AI Strategy 2031.
Who Could Win This Category?
An Emirati founder or team with a technology-driven product, platform, app, or solution with a clear problem, a defined market, and demonstrable progress.
Judging Criteria
- Clarity of the problem and relevance to the UAE
- Innovation and originality of the technology or approach
- Technical feasibility and stage of development
- Commercial viability and potential for scale
- Founder's understanding of market and competition

Sustainability and Environment
About This Category
Recognises Emirati entrepreneurs building businesses that address environmental challenges or contribute to the UAE's Net Zero 2050 commitment. Clean energy, waste reduction, sustainable agriculture, water conservation, and green services all qualify.
Who Could Win This Category?
An Emirati founder with a business idea or venture that has measurable positive environmental impact and a credible path to implementation within the UAE.
Judging Criteria
- Clarity of the environmental problem addressed
- Measurable or projected environmental impact
- Feasibility within the UAE context
- Alignment with UAE Net Zero 2050 goals
- Commercial sustainability of the business model

Education and Skills Development
About This Category
Honours Emirati entrepreneurs reimagining how people learn, grow, and access opportunities in the UAE. EdTech, vocational training, career development tools, and community-based learning all qualify.
Who Could Win This Category?
An Emirati founder building a product, platform, or service that improves access to education, skills training, or career development in the UAE. Projects addressing underserved communities will be viewed favourably.
Judging Criteria
- Relevance and impact of the educational solution
- Clarity of the target audience and their need
- Innovation in approach or delivery
- Evidence of demand or early traction
- Potential to scale across the UAE

Social Impact and Community
About This Category
Celebrates Emirati entrepreneurs whose work creates meaningful change in communities across the UAE. Social enterprises, initiatives supporting inclusion, wellbeing, youth empowerment, or Emirati cultural preservation all qualify.
Who Could Win This Category?
An Emirati founder whose business or initiative addresses a genuine social challenge in the UAE. The business does not need to be a registered company but must demonstrate real activity and community impact.
Judging Criteria
- Clarity and importance of the social challenge addressed
- Evidence of real or projected community impact
- Originality and sincerity of the approach
- Alignment with UAE national values and the tolerance agenda
- Founder's personal commitment and story

- Optional: photos, testimonials, community feedback, or press coverage
- Copy of UAE National ID
What you could win
Four category winners will each receive:
- AED 5,000 as cash prize
- A winner’s trophy
- A 10-minute presentation on stage to pitch your idea
- Mentorship and network access through the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association
- Recognition across TawdheefxZaheb channels
Who can apply?
You can enter if you:
- Are a UAE National
- Are aged 18 to 35
- Have an idea, an early stage startup or a business established within the past five years• Apply alone or as part of a team of up to three UAE Nationals
- Select one award category
Applications are open across all seven emirates, including Al Dhafra and regional communities.
How to apply
1. Tell us about your idea:
Complete the application form and select your category.
2. Make your pitch
Submit a 2 minute video that explains your idea and why it matters.
3. Share your plan
Upload a one page business summary.
4.Confirm your eligibility
Upload a copy of your UAE National ID.
5. Submit by 31 August
You will receive an email once your application is complete.
What happens next?
Make the shortlist. Take your idea further.
Tawdheef first confirms that each application meets the entry requirements.
The Emirates Entrepreneurship Association and judging panel then score every eligible idea against clear category criteria.
The top five entries in each category make the shortlist. Twenty finalists gain recognition across Tawdheef and EEA channels.
On 19 November 2026, four winners and eight runners up will receive live recognition at Tawdheef x Zaheb.
