Andrzej DziembowskiHead of the Laboratory of RNA Biology at Int'l Institute of Molecular & Cell BiologySpeaker
Profile
Andrzej Dziembowski is a molecular biologist and professor of biological sciences affiliated with the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and the University of Warsaw. He completed his MSc and PhD at the University of Warsaw and carried out postdoctoral research at the CNRS in France. His research focuses on RNA biology, especially mRNA stability, degradation, and poly(A)-tail metabolism. His group also applies advanced methods such as direct RNA sequencing (DRS) using nanopore technology to study RNA modifications and poly(A) tail dynamics. More recently, his team has shown that therapeutic mRNAs, including mRNA vaccines, can undergo re-adenylation, a process that enhances their stability and supports protein production. He has published in leading journals, including Nature and Cell, and is a member of EMBO.
