Dong-Eun Kim is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology at Konkuk University (Seoul, Korea) and the CEO of Uniwon PharmGene, Co. Ltd., a bio-startup specializing in RNA drug development. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Ohio State University and holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry from the Seoul National University. His research focuses on advanced biochemistry and innovative drug delivery systems, particularly RNA therapeutics and aptamers. Recently, his team introduced the Nicked Low dsRNA Template (NiLoT) strategy to improve the quality and safety of in vitro transcribed mRNA, a breakthrough featured in Nucleic Acids Research.
