Jill Caswell is a Biology Senior Team leader with Almac Sciences’ biocatalysis group in which her role oversees leading the development of enzymatic oligonucleotide synthesis technology as well as enzyme supply for both internal and external clients. After obtaining a degree in Biochemistry Jill worked in industry producing recombinant proteins in a variety of host organisms before obtaining a PhD in 2011 through an industrial collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast. She joined Almac Sciences in 2012 with 10 years of industrial relevant experience to bring to the biology team helping to grow the enzyme engineering and expression capabilities. In more recent years, she has used her molecular biology expertise to lead a team to develop enzymatic oligonucleotide synthesis technology that can be utilized for siRNA, ASO and gRNA. This technology was successfully scaled to multi-kg.
