Joahne Carter is a Consumer Products industry veteran with extensive experience leading and building iconic brands and high performing organizations. More than a decade of her career has been in the Consumer Health space, with a focus on Wellness brands. She is currently the Chief Marketing Officer for Semaine Health, a fast-growing women’s health brand that is focused on improving the quality of women’s lives by restoring their health, not masking symptoms. Prior to that role she spent several years at Johnson & Johnson/Kenvue. She led the Specialty Channel sales division, a $750MM business. She reversed years of decline by investing in shopper marketing, resulting in sales growth and improved profitability. She went on to lead the Listerine brand as the General Manager, responsible for the ~$1B US business, she championed increasing the brand’s relevance with Millennial and Genz consumers with a focus on social media and e-commerce, which drove $100MM in sales growth.

Joahne has experience with entrepreneurial brands. In her role as the Head of Marketing, North America for Ricola, a natural cough/cold and wellness brand, she grew the business from $75MM to $175MM by creating a scalable demand generation model. She joined the start-up beauty brand eos as the Chief of Marketing, US and built capabilities in shopper marketing and digital activation.

Beginning her career at Procter & Gamble, Joahne learned the fundamentals of marketing and brand management. She worked in the Beauty division on iconic brands such as Olay and Herbal Essences. Joahne is a transformational business leader who loves building brands that improve consumers’ lives.

Joahne has a B.S. in Accounting from Hampton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Joahne is a member of Kean University’s Member of Advisors for the College of Business and Public Management, a cabinet member for Christel House International and an advisory board member of Sacred Konnections. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Jack and Jill of America.

She lives in Montclair, NJ with her son. She is originally from Los Angeles and her favorite meal is shrimp fajitas from El Cholo Restaurant, a California institution.
