Business Development Manager Renewability at Cargill Food Solutions EMEA

Edwin Berends (*1981) studied Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering & Management at University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands). Following a variety of innovation and sales roles at DSM and AnQore from 2007 - 2017, he joined Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers Europe as business development manager Renewability. In this role he has been responsible for the expansion of Cargill’s sales of bioethanol in the biofuels market. In addition he has worked on the application of Cargill’s ingredients in fermentation, chemical & materials industries and on the development of co-location projects, enabling customers to set up their new plant at one of Cargill’s biorefinery sites in Europe. As of 2023, Edwin Berends has taken up a new role as Strategic Growth Projects Lead EMEA at Cargill’s newly established Meat & Dairy Alternatives team.
