Jin Woo Kim is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. from KAIST in 1999 and completed his postdoctoral training at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies (2002–2006) as a Human Frontier Science Program Long-Term Fellow. His research focuses on the mechanisms governing retinal development, degeneration, and regeneration. Recently, his work has expanded toward developing antibody-based therapeutics designed to modulate Müller glia reprogramming and promote neuronal regeneration in degenerating retina.
