Kate MacGregor is the President of XYC Design, an innovative firm known for transforming challenging sites into outstanding buildings. XYC's portfolio includes notable projects such as M2, a 25,000 square foot mixed-use building in Calgary's East Village, and Carraig Ridge, a rural community featuring contemporary homes designed in collaboration with Endemic, Young Projects, and BOLD Workshop. In addition to her leadership at XYC Design, Kate is the founder of Open Concepts Design Collective, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting design thinking, facilitating collaboration, and fostering cultural production in Calgary. She currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary's School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, and holds the role of Chair at Building Equality in Architecture Calgary. Kate earned her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary and completed her M. Arch at Columbia University in New York City. Prior to founding XYC Design, she gained valuable experience at renowned design firms, including Young Projects and Architects in Brooklyn, NY. |
