Service Designer at J5 Design Studio
Speaker

Profile

Rhea Kachroo is an immigrant and the child of parents who were displaced from their home because of targeted genocide – she believes mentioning this is very important because it is a large part of her and her family's identity and has impacted her worldview. Rhea is passionate about working to create social and systemic change that is rooted in values that move away from colonialism, violence, and inequity. She believes that working with the people you are designing for and elevating the voices of people who are often left out of conversations is the key to unlocking long-term, equitable, and sustainable social change. She is interested in working on complex social issues and has worked in policy roles, the public sector, post-secondary institutions, and private practice. Currently, Rhea is a designer at J5 Design Studio where she works on a wide range of projects that are rooted in the idea of a kinder, better future for all, where everyone is deserving of kindness, respect, and love.
