Dr. Sid Bhandari is an Assistant Research Professor in the Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is also the Associate Director of Research at the Construction Safety Research Alliance. He earned his B.S. (2014), M.S. (2017), and Ph.D. (2019) in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Bhandari’s research expertise exists at the nexus of safety-leading indicators, hazard recognition programs, adult learning, human factors engineering, and mental health to improve health and safety on construction sites. Since 2013, he has provided safety training to over 2,000 workers across different companies. Currently, Dr. Bhandari works directly with more than 100 construction organizations each year to advance their health and safety mission. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers and directly oversees more than a quarter of a million dollars yearly in external funding. For his research, he has received the National Safety Council’s Rising Stars of Safety Award in 2021, ELECTRI International’s Early Career Award in 2019, and Best Paper Award at the 5th International/11th Construction Specialty Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2015. |
