Steve, co-founder of Stelor, had to learn about under-funded contingency reserve funds the hard way. In 2010, Steve purchased a condo/strata that would later require a complete building envelope replacement. This poorly managed and under-funded condo/strata would cost Steve $80,000 in special levy and put him on the brink of financial ruin. From there, he set out with the mission to build analytic tools and software to protect condo owners from special levy.

Prior to becoming a PropTech founder, Steve was an engineer and entrepreneur. In 2010, he bought a stake in CG Engineering – a drilling and completions engineering firm – that was focused on oilfield waste disposal and abandonments. Then in 2018, with his partner at CG Engineering and another friend from University, Steve founded Danzig Resources, an oil company, and acquired a small property from Crescent Pointe. In 2019, Steve founded a gas leak detection service company which was focused on rural gas utilities. And finally, in 2023, Steve was able to leave day to day obligations in these other ventures to focus solely on Stelor.
