BUILDEX and Canadian Wood Council’s continued collaboration brings WoodWorks back to BUILDEX in 2027, integrating WoodWorks’ technical expertise and wood products industry representation into BUILDEX Vancouver.
This collaboration builds on a shared commitment to advancing Canada’s built environment and expands BUILDEX’s focus on modern methods of construction, exploring innovative design, materials, and construction practices.

WoodWorks at BUILDEX amplifies BUILDEX Vancouver’s core offering to Canadian and North America’s design and construction leaders: timely market insights, respected technical knowledge, transformative networking, and exposure to the materials and technologies at the forefront of Canada’s built environment.
New for 2027 – Design Challenge
WoodWorks is hosting a Design Challenge in collaboration with Fast + Epp’s Concept Lab. This competition aims to develop a design for a feature timber structure that will be the centrepiece of the WoodWorks Pavilion. The challenge is open to the construction industry at large and seeks to highlight the versatility of wood construction through material re-use and kits-of-parts approach to construction.

WoodWorks at BUILDEX offers built environment professionals a unique opportunity to explore the latest innovations in wood-based design and construction through:
- 10 hours of accredited educational programming focused on wood construction
- Two BUILDEX Main Stage Keynotes featuring leading voices in mass timber, urban design, and development
- Direct access to technical experts including manufacturers, suppliers, and wood engineering consultants
- A dedicated expo pavilion showcasing structural and architectural wood products at the heart of Western Canada’s largest building and construction event
About the Canadian Wood Council
The Canadian Wood Council (CWC) is Canada’s unifying voice for the wood products industry. As a national federation of associations, the CWC’s members represent hundreds of manufacturers across the country. The CWC’s mission is to support its members by accelerating market demand for wood products and championing responsible leadership through excellence in codes, standards, and regulations, and by delivering technical support and knowledge transfer for the construction sector through its market leading WoodWorks program.

10 hours of accredited educational seminars, two BUILDEX Main Stage Keynotes, and a dedicated pavilion on the expo floor provide expanded opportunities to access technical knowledge, suppliers, manufacturers, and engineering consultants in wood-based design and construction.
Industry leadership
WoodWorks (delivered by Cecobois in Quebec) is an industry-led program of the Canadian Wood Council created to expand the use of wood in ICI, multi-unit residential, mid-rise, and tall building markets in Canada. The initiative helps industry professionals build proficiency in wood design and construction through training, networking, and direct technical support.
