Fintech Advisor, Board Member, Venture Capitalist

Armen Meyer is Co-Founder of the American Fintech Council, the largest trade association representing financial technology companies in the United States. He is also a partner at Millennia Capital and on the board or advisory board of several fintechs and banks in the US, Canada and Asia.

Armen was Head of Regulatory Strategy & Public Policy at LendingClub from 2017-23, the U.S.’s first fintech lender to successfully acquire a national bank. Previously, he was a Managing Director in PwC’s Financial Services Advisory group, consulting banks in the wake of the global the financial crisis. Before that he served as Chief of Staff of New York’s financial services regulator (now called Department of Financial Services) and as Assistant Secretary for Economic Development to the New York Governor, helping New York State coordinate the financial crisis response with Congress’s Oversight Panel and the Department of Treasury.

Earlier in his career, he was a policy and political advisor to governors, congressmen, and candidates for elected office, and was a United States District Court clerk.

Armen received his J.D. and M.P.A. jointly from Harvard Law School and the Kennedy School of Government, focusing on business regulation and antitrust, and earned a full scholarship. He studied mathematics at Fordham College at Lincoln Center receiving the Alumni Award given to the college’s top student.

In spare time, he advises nonprofits such as the AI Education Project and accelerator programs including U.C. Berkeley’s SkyDeck in the artificial intelligence and financial services spaces, while co-leading the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Northern California. He travels, writes, and is a frequent speaker at conferences hosted by the Federal Reserve, trade associations, universities and others.
