Chastity Murphy is a Senior Advisor for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Treasury, overseeing cryptocurrency, digital assets, consumer protections, and financial inclusion portfolios. During her tenure at the Treasury, she helped establish the Office of Racial Equity and currently, advises the Counselor for Racial Equity on digital transformation. Before her current position, Chastity was Senior Economic Policy Advisor for Representative Rashida Tlaib, pioneering legislation about e-cash, stablecoins, and digital assets. Chastity's commitment to impactful policymaking extends to her time as a staffer for former Representative and present HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge. Chastity has also worked as a Federal Reserve Board of Governors analyst and cooperative education student. Chastity was featured in the 2020 Forbes article "Women of Color Hill Staffers Talk New Economic Policymaking, Digital Cash Without Blockchain." Chastity has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics from South Carolina State University.
