Karen G. Mills is a Senior Fellow at Harvard Business School, where she is part of the entrepreneurship faculty. She served in President Barack Obama’s Cabinet as the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration from 2009 to 2013 and was a member of the White House National Economic Council. Mills is the President of MMP Group and a longtime venture capitalist and private equity investor, having built companies that range from tech platforms to Annie’s macaroni and cheese. She is the Vice Chair of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the author of numerous publications on fintech, innovation policy, and the supply chain economy.
