Robert Bole
Director, Digital Product Management at SMBC


Robert Bole serves as the Director of Digital Product Management at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). In his role, he leads Digital Product Management within the Innovation & Fintech group at SMBC. Currently, his primary focus is on spearheading Digital Transformation initiatives, encompassing the refinement and execution of an evolving digital strategy across various platforms and business sectors. His responsibilities also involve conceptualizing and implementing groundbreaking capabilities for the market, expanding the scope of existing products, and modernizing the company's existing systems.

Before joining SMBC, Robert held the position of Vice President of Innovation and New Products at a prominent AI/ML-based Asset Manager and Fintech startup, which had achieved unicorn status. With over 15 years of experience, Robert has held key roles at renowned Global Investment Banks and leading Data Companies, including Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, and IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global). Throughout his career, he has successfully managed businesses and taken the lead in driving innovation, technology advancements, and critical transformation efforts.

Robert earned his MBA from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, with a focus on Corporate Finance, Fintech, and Product Management.
