Syrie Crouch has 34+ years of experience in the International Energy Industry. Her experience includes governing Capital Investment for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Direct Air Capture (DAC) and lower carbon intensity products. She is the founder and director of CCS Ltd a consultancy which has worked with International Agencies, investment companies, CCS service providers, and emitters looking to contract transport and storage services from CCS providers. Syrie is also a board member of Climeworks a Direct Air Capture (DAC) company and Recarber a company looking to accelerate BECCS projects.
Syrie worked at Shell for over 33 years. Most recently as the VP CCS working across the Upstream, Downstream and Integrated Gas Directorates to support their Net Zero Emissions (CCS, DAC, biofuels, blue hydrogen and sectoral decarbonisation ambitions). Syrie was responsible for resetting Shell’s CCS strategy and building a team and the capabilities to deliver on it. She was the Decision Executive for a portfolio of 7 major CCS cluster hubs (including Northern Lights, Porthos, Aramis and Polaris/Atlas) with a $1.5 Bln CAPEX ceiling and a $250 mln FEASEX responsibility.
