He has 10 years experience in the Auditing profession and 25 years experience in corporate and international taxation. Karl is the past Vice-Chairperson of the Regional Finance and Tax Committee - European Chamber of Commerce - Singapore branch and a member of the Special Tax Court and past Chairperson of the Business Unity South Africa Taxation committee.

Karl specialises in Tax Planning in mergers and acquisitions, International tax planning and transfer pricing. His specific focus is on Africa, Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

Karl has lectured on under-graduate and post-graduate courses dealing with International Taxation and Transfer Pricing for the passed 10 years.
