Michelle M. Shannon, CMP is Associate Director, Meetings Management at Novo Nordisk, Inc. based in Plainsboro, NJ. She is responsible for overseeing the Strategic Meeting & Event Management team that manages all US based Clinical and Commercial meetings, and special events. The focus of the team is to provide strategic and tactical execution of meetings while ensuring compliance, efficiencies and cost containment.
A thirty year veteran of the meetings and hospitality industries and graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Michelle has spent her career in a variety companies such as Hilton Hotels, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Lanyon, Inc. and IEEE. Her positions have included hotel operations, meeting planning and strategic meeting management and in each role incorporated her passion for the industry.
Michelle also spent five years on the intermediary side of the business in a meeting & event planning company and brings that customer centric experience into her business approach.
Michelle resides in Branchburg, NJ with her husband, Michael, also in the meetings industry, and their two children, Ashley and Matthew. Of course, their two dogs are also a big part of their family, Bella and Scout.
