Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s honours degree in Law (2.1 or above), or equivalent legal qualifications. Law graduates with 2.2 honours who also have other legal qualifications and/or substantial professional legal experience may also qualify.
  • Applicants for the programme for non law graduates should hold a Bachelor’s honours degree (2.1) in any area relevant to the Technology, Media and Telecommunications field or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.

Qualifications Earned

You will receive either an LLM in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law, or a Postgraduate Diploma or a Postgraduate Certificate from Queen Mary University of London.


Your degree certificate will make no distinction between a qualification studied by presence in London and a qualification studied by distance learning.

Programme Language

The programme will be conducted entirely in English. For all those from a country that is not a majority English speaking country, a certified/notarised copy of English language proficiency is required.

If you've completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in one of the following countries, or are from one of the following countries, you will not be required to prove your knowledge of English:

Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, UK, USA.

You will not be required to prove your knowledge of English if you're a national of Canada.

Minimum requirements are as follows: 

  • IELTS Academic - 7.0 overall, with a minimum 7.0 in writing and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking.
  • TOEFL - 100 overall, including 27 in Writing, 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.

Payment

Full payment for the course fees is expected on acceptance of your place on the course and before commencement of the course.

Alternatively, an instalment plan is available:

LLM and Postgraduate Diploma

  • 25% of the fee is due before the start of the programme and the balance is due in three further instalments throughout the programme.


Postgraduate Certificate

  • 50% of the fee is due before the start of the programme and the balance is due mid-way through your first year of study.
