Farzad is currently a research officer and theme lead for Digital Construction Solution initiative under the Construction Sector Digitalization and Productivity (CSDP) challenge program at NRC. Farzad has been involved in several construction engineering and management research and development projects to lead and provide technical support in delivering the whole-building and infrastructure life cycle environmental impacts assessment guidelines, tools and data. He has initiated and led a project to overview on the Construction 4.0 applications and their adaptation potential into Codes Canada at NRC to introduce the digital construction application and adaptability by codes Canada to improve awareness and enhance the research and business inclusion in construction research center projects. Since the start of NRC new initiative to decarbonize the construction sector, Farzad led activities related to digitalization challenge program and led the NRC challenge program workshops for academia, industry, OGD, CRC and NRC as a presenter/ technical discussion facilitator. Farzad has extensive knowledge and experience on automation in construction initiatives such as BIM/ digital twin, data interoperability as well as sustainable design and construction through integrating digital solutions with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
