Alistair Hurst is the Director of Business Development (Global) at emp BIOTECH and also functions as the General Manager of the company’s US subsidiary. With a background in chemical engineering and inorganic chemistry, he has spent the last 30 years engaged in protein purification projects and has developed several products which have been taken into the commercial space. These have been in diagnostic, analytical, therapeutic and environmental application areas. In collaboration with his Berlin-based colleagues he has designed and developed the company’s new Protein G solid phase which is the first to be truly base-stable.
